BloomingOUT – QAnnoyed – August 27th, 2020

On this episode, we are here to spoon-feed you our thoughts about QAnon, the conspiracy theory saga based upon the founding principle that Donald Trump is part of a secret military operation to overthrow a ring of elite pedophiles known as the Deep State despite some accusations that sorta make him look like an elite pedophile. What we are more concerned about though is how this conspiracy theory is being used to spread harmful rhetoric about lgbtq+ people (and also antisemitism).

But before all of that, we got to hear Ireland’s experience at the Marsh P. Johnson march that was held in NYC, including a snippet from two of the speakers. Queen Jean is an activist, organizer, and costume designer who we heard first. Ianna Fields Stewart was the second speaker, who is also an activist and founder of the Okra Project:

The Okra Project is a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home-cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans People wherever we can reach them.”

After our heated Q-nnoying debate, Justin brought us some spicy news about Jerry Faldwell, Jr. and his sins.

From Melanie: On a heavier note, even in the best of times – and they, these are not – depression and loss of hope for a better future take their toll on our community. We lose folks to violence from others, yes, but even more so from suicide, murder by proxy. Please, loves, if you are feeling like you can’t take another day or that there is no place for you or that the world doesn’t need you, please reach out. We lost a young Family member 2 weeks ago, and we’re coming up on a terrible anniversary. I know what it’s like, how difficult it is to do anything, how helpless and hopeless really feel. And as I get farther away from my own darkest times when I tried to just end all of the pain and noise and despondency and anger, I’ve found a world I belong in. It just took some more time. Please give yourself more time. If you are in crisis contact:
