Dianne Shewmaker has memories of being a young college student in Memphis and the effect the message of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had on her. She had been raised in the south and lived during a time when the message of Dr. King was not as accepted, but what she heard and observed during those years affected her life and service from that day forward. Dianne joined the NAACP and the City of Bloomington Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission to honor the legacy of Dr. King, to support bringing people together, and to end hate. The legacy of the words of Dr. King she first heard over 50 years ago still ring in her ears and she dedicates her life to service in his name. Read more about Dianne and listen to her story of service beginning Monday, July 15. Airing at 7:55 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. on 91.3 and 98.1FM WFHB Community Radio or online at WFHB.org/category/news/activate_/.
