S. Indiana Car Crashes into Black Bear

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources confirmed Monday a black bear was involved in a automobile accident in Southern Indiana, over the weekend. A driver reported hitting a bear on Interstate 64 near New Albany, Sunday night. DNR reports the injured animal wandered off into the woods nearby after the incident. The driver was uninjured. Indiana Department of Education Releases ISTEP Results

The Indiana Department of Education released last year’s ISTEP+ results, this afternoon. The Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress tests evaluate school districts based on Indiana student scores. ISTEP tests students in grades 3 through 8 and high school sophomores on their mathematics and language arts skills. Cases of Hepatitis A on the Rise

Reported cases of Hepatitis A are on the rise throughout Southern Indiana, including Lawrence county. Monroe County Health Commissioner Penny Caudill said the increase in the reported cases of the fecal-oral disease mimics a wider outbreak across the country. Hepatitis A is caused by ingesting fecal particulates, and can be transmitted between people, or through contaminated food. Caudill said the …

Governor Tours Flood Damaged Counties – State of Emergency Declared
