Indiana Moves to a “Cautious Stage 4.5″ in Governor’s Latest Executive Order

Indiana delayed moving into Stage 5 after Governor Eric Holcomb signed a new executive order on Wednesday. The state will keep its current capacity limits at bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. According to the governor, the restrictions will be kept in place until at least July 18th. Cases of Hepatitis A on the Rise

Reported cases of Hepatitis A are on the rise throughout Southern Indiana, including Lawrence county. Monroe County Health Commissioner Penny Caudill said the increase in the reported cases of the fecal-oral disease mimics a wider outbreak across the country. Hepatitis A is caused by ingesting fecal particulates, and can be transmitted between people, or through contaminated food. Caudill said the …

Fatal Overdoses Decrease in Monroe County, Rise Elsewhere Across State

Rev. Forrest Gilmore said the Shalom Community Center’s organization is seeing a reduction in overdose deaths among clients, this year. Gilmore attributes the decline in opioid related deaths to expanded opioid addiction treatment options, and increased homelessness services.
