Monroe County Habitat for Humanity to Receive 14 Acres

This morning, Monroe County Commissioners approved an agreement to transfer 14 acres of the county’s Thomson property to Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County. The property, located off South Rogers Road, will be the site of an affordable housing development. County Attorney Jeff Cockerill, said the land transfer will come in two stages. New Road Raises Local Business Owners Concerns

Business owners on Bloomington’s west side are concerned about the impact of a new road that will connect Vernal Pike to Gates Drive. In their meeting on Wednesday morning, Monroe County Commissioners heard appeals from several businessmen for more communication about the project.
