Brown Co. Parks Director Signed Off on Logging

The Brown County Parks and Recreation Dept. signed off on a logging contract that clear-cut a scenic overlook. At least one acre was logged along both sides of N. Highway 135, south of Bean Blossom. The Brown County Democrat reports, the county sold the timber along the overlook to Crowder Hardwood Properties LLC, for $13,000, in December. The contract, which …

Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill’s Office announced it’s put together an online form for Indiana residents who may have experienced sexual abuse, at the hands of religious leaders. Gutted Hate Crimes Bill Faces Uncertain Future

Drivers Report Potholes On County Website

Online pothole and road hazard reporting is now available on the Monroe County website. The service has been available for over a week, and Public Works Director Lisa Ridge said the response has been “enormous.” The new online pothole reporting form is for Monroe County roads only. Ridge said the online reports are emailed directly to the county’s engineering department.
