City of Bloomington to Demolish the Griffy Lake Water Treatment Plant

The Griffy Water Treatment Plant was built in 1925 to provide water to the city of Bloomington. The plant collected water from Griffy Lake and was treated to become safe drinking water for the community. Toxic Algae Found at Griffy Lake

The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department is warning a toxin-producing algae has been found at Griffy Lake. A report from the Indiana Clean Lakes Program indicates blue-green algae is present in Griffy Lake. Griffy Lake To Be Refilled and Stocked With Fish
