Indiana Midterms See Highest Voter Turnout in Over Two Decades

Over half of eligible voters cast ballots in November’s midterm election. Indiana had 51 percent average turnout across the state. This is the highest voter turnout for Indiana during a midterm election since 1994. Slightly over two million people voted out of the four and half million eligible voters. Elections Board To Open Central IU Polling Site

The Monroe County Election Board approved creating two new polling places in its February 1st meeting. IU Students Ask for Voting Site

Monroe County Election Board members are being asked to open a centrally-located poling site near Indiana University. Sandra Shapshay is the director of IU’s Political and Civic Engagement Program, or PACE.
