Indiana Moves to a “Cautious Stage 4.5″ in Governor’s Latest Executive Order

Indiana delayed moving into Stage 5 after Governor Eric Holcomb signed a new executive order on Wednesday. Unusually Early Flu Death Hits Indiana

The first flu death in Indiana came unusually early this year. The Indiana State Department of Health reports the state’s first victim died on November 2nd. Growing Tick Population Increases Disease Risk

Deer tick populations are increasing and showing up in places they’ve never been before. That’s according to a new study from Indiana University researchers. As WFHB Correspondent Jonah Chester reports, the increased prevalence of ticks throughout the state also increases the chances of residents contracting diseases, including the incurable Lyme Disease.

STDs on the Rise in Indiana

Studies from the Centers for Disease Control show that in Indiana, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Syphilis are of particular concern. Preliminary data for 2017 suggests an eleven percent increase in Chlamydia rates, a 25 percent increase in Gonorrhea rates, and a one percent increase in total Syphilis cases. ISDH Warns of Poisoned Synthetic Marijuana

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) is warning Indiana residents about the dangers of synthetic marijuana, after cases of severe bleeding across the state were linked to the legal drug.
