Play

On June 22nd, children’s author Elsa Marston Harik hosted a discussion about her works at the Friends of the Library Bookstore at the Monroe County Public Library. Elsa has written many books, ranging from children’s picture books to young-adult novels to nonfiction pieces. Elsa Marston Harik writes about life in the Middle East, in hopes to “focus on interfaith bridge building and finding ways to overcome differences. She speaks about how she thinks that all children should be read to, and about how children find reading more pleasurable if they see adults reading for pleasure themselves. She speaks about how we all want to make the world a better place, and about how she hopes to do that through her writing. She is the author of The Olive Tree and The Compassionate Warrior, along with others. The talk took place at the Monroe County Public Library, and the lecture begins with Library Director Marilyn Wood talking about the accomplishments of the Friends of the Library this year.
