Part One:
Hosts Clarence Boone and Liz Mitchell speak with Dr. Charlie Nelms about the launch of his new book, “From Cotton Fields to University Leadership: All Eyes on Charlie, A Memoir – A Story of How Education was His Weapon of Choice for Fighting Racism and Inequality.”

Dr. Nelms will launching his book as part of the IU Bicentennial Well House Series on Tuesday, April 30, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM in the Georgian Room of the Indiana Memorial Union (900 East 7th Street).

Part Two:
Hosts Clarence Boone and Liz Mitchell speak with Byron Turner, president of the Monroe County Black Democratic Caucus, who will talk about candidate’s forums that will be held this coming Saturday and Sunday as Bloomington’s upcoming primary elections nears.

The Monroe County Black Democratic Caucus and the Bloomington Black Strategic Alliance will host two forums this upcoming weekend. The first event will feature mayoral, at-large city council and city clerk candidates. The second forum will feature candidates from Bloomington’s six city council districts. Each forum will focus on issues facing the black community and the community at-large.

When: 3-5 p.m. April 13 and 14.

Where: Lighthouse Community Church at 850 E. Winslow Road.
