On this special episode of bloomingOUT, anchors JP and Ryne host a panel discussion about the June 12 mass shooting that occurred at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, FL. The panel tonight is held by the President of Bloomington PRIDE, Justin Ford; and from the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Rachel Guglielmo. The panel talks about the violent events of June 12th, as well as what this has meant for both the LGBTQ+ community and the future of gun violence in America. The panel joins together to discuss the underlying issues of Islamophobia, homophobia, the gun violence epidemic, about what the community can do to prevent such a violent attack from happening in the future.

This episode features music from Ultra Nate’ and the cast of the FOX show, “Glee.” Plus, the weekly events calendar of upcoming LGBTQ+ events.

The show this evening ends with a special tribute to those who lost their lives on June 12, 2016 at Pulse nightclub- a recitation of the names of the 49 victims in-memoriam, as well as a tribute song performed by singer-songwriters Eli Lieb and Brandon Skeie entitled, “Pulse.”
