WFHB Local News – June 8, 2020

Play

This is the WFHB Local News for Monday, June 8th, 2020.

Later in the program, Kade Young and Sydney Foreman talked to two organizers of the Enough is Enough protest on Friday. Also Nicholas DiBrita has an interview from that protest. In today’s show, you will also hear A Few Minutes with the Mayor.

But first, we have a report from WFHB News Correspondent Jake Jacobson.

Last week, the Monroe County Council held a special meeting, to vote on an exemption to fill two deputy Sheriff positions. As WFHB Correspondent Jake Jacobson reports, the context surrounding this special meeting drew crowds and criticism.

On Thursday of last week, Kade Young and Sydney Foreman talked to Selena Drake and Salina Tesfagiorgis, organizers of the Enough is Enough protest and march from Dunn Meadow to the Monroe County Courthouse. Here is that interview ahead of Friday’s protest.

Lastly, A Few Minutes with the Mayor, where Sydney Foreman talks to Mayor John Hamilton of Bloomington about local issues. We turn to Sydney Foreman in our recurring Monday segment.
