Volunteer Sheriff’s Deputy Vince (Carlos) Gaitani

Play

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Reserve is a small group of unpaid, fully-trained, armed law enforcement officers who help Sheriff Brad Swain and his paid deputies in times of need and who hire out to private organizations for crowd control and security. The reservists came into being more than 60 years ago as Monroe County’s first Civil Defense unit. That group morphed into the Reserve a few years later and now they are an integral part of the Sheriff’s operations in these parts. The Reserve is a self-supporting nonprofit with Gaitani as its current president and is always on the lookout for new volunteers and donations.
