Indiana Senator Todd Young is campaigning to lead the National Senate Republicans’ Campaign, in 2020.
The Associated Press reports this Wednesday, Young is likely to be confirmed by fellow Republicans to lead their campaign during the presidential election year. So far the first-term Republican Senator does not face any opponents, and has received the endorsement of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Utah Senator and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney has also been floated as a possible contender for the Senate Republican leadership position.
Previously Young served as a three-term congressman from Indiana’s 9th district, which includes Lawrence, Brown and Monroe Counties. Young also served as a captain in the Marine Corps.
