Saturday is the 4th Annual Makevention Maker’s Fair

Play

Fans of the maker movement, and those just curious about creative approaches to tools and materials, will find inspiration and entertainment this Saturday at Makevention, Bloomington’s annual maker fair featuring the work of area inventors, programmers, builders, and artists. The free all-ages event, now in its fourth year, takes place at the Monroe County Convention Center in downtown Bloomington, and is presented by local hackerspace Bloominglabs and Monroe County Public Library. Among the highlights at this year’s maker fair are robotics and virtual reality demos, an outdoor human foosball table, and a 10-year anniversary exhibit by Trashion Refashion, Bloomington’s annual runway show featuring clothing made from discarded items. Makevention is 10 a.m.–4 p.m. this Saturday, August 27 at 302 South College Avenue in Bloomington. All ages are welcome, and admission and parking at the Convention Center are free. Local food trucks and other vendors will be onsite. More information about Makevention can be found at makevention.org.
