Right to Work Referendum

Play

The Indiana House of Representatives met this afternoon to hear referendums to House Bill 1001, also known as the controversial “Right to Work” Bill. The bill would prohibit employers from negotiating contracts that require non-unionized workers to pay fees. The introduction of the Bill to the House floor is the latest in what has been a largely partisan debate over Right to Work, with Republicans seeking to make Indiana the twenty-third “right to work” state, and Democrats and Union representatives staunchly opposed.

Yesterday, WFHB correspondent Wes Martin spoke with AFL-CIO spokesman Jeff Harris about the bill’s status, as well as Monroe County Republican Party Chairman, Steve Hogan. Cara Weaver reports for this WFHB feature exclusive.
