Newspaper Distributor Jack Dopp

Play

Are we witnessing the death of the daily newspaper? Most informed observers seem to think so. The man who has brought daily newspapers from all over the state and the nation into Bloomington for the last five decades is calling it quits at the end of this month. Jack Dopp started out as a nine-year-old paperboy in East Gary (now Lake Station), Indiana. He wound up in Bloomington where he was able to build a newspaper distribution business. As he recounts his career, he reveals a history of newspapers in the last 50 years.

Host Michael Glab goes one-on-one with Bloomington’s most fascinating people every Thursday at 5:30pm.
