“New Urbanism” Along the B-Line

Play

Last week the Bloomington City Council gave final approval to plans for a development at Morton and Dodds streets, just a few feet from the B-Line Trail. The plan includes a dozen houses, as well as condo units and a commercial building that could be used for a Trail-side restaurant. Unlike many developments considered by the city, the project was almost universally praised by government officials and neighbors who commented at public meetings. Matt Press, the developer behind the project, prides himself on a development style he said gives neighbors a say in what he builds. WFHB Assistant News Director Joe Crawford spoke with Press for this WFHB feature exclusive.
