Last week Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett proposed major changes in certification criteria for public school teachers and administrators in Indiana lowering the formal credentials that applicants for both types of positions would require, like a proposed cut in school administrator qualifications and requiring that teachers possess only a bachelorís degree in their field of expertise and not a teacherís degree.
