Bloomington-based Limestone Post, announced today they’ll reform as a non-profit.

Co-founder and Publisher Ron Eid said the switch is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of donations, which will allow the production of higher quality content. Eid said, as a nonprofit, the online magazine will be able to accept tax-deductible contributions from readers, as well as sponsorships from local businesses.

In a post, Eid writes Limestone Post intends to develop programs that will help citizens engage more effectively in this community, as well as facilitate collaboration with local media, education, and civic organizations, with the goal of eventually including workshops, seminars, and a speaker series.

WFHB News Director Wes Martin sat down with Ron Eid, co-founder and publisher of the online magazine today, to discuss what will change, in Bloomington’s evolving media landscape.

Limestone Post underwrites WFHB News and Public Affairs programs.
