Kelson Quits Monroe County Council

Play

The cast of characters at the Monroe County Council is set to change again, this time because of the resignation of former Council member Vic Kelson. The Council has lost four members in just more than a year, including Kelson, who was in the middle of his second term. Kelson say he is leaving because of new responsibilities at his full time job. Other Council members who’ve left recently include former Council member Sam Allison, who quit in late 2011 after moving out of state; Warren Henegar, who died in August; and Julie Thomas, who quit her post early to join the County Commission last month. WFHB Assistant News Director Joe Crawford spoke with Kelson about his time on the Council just after he announced his immediate resignation last week. We bring you that interview for today’s WFHB feature exclusive.
