IU Staff Opposes Private Parking

Play

Early last year, the Trustees of Indiana University called for a cost-benefit analysis of privatization of parking at IU-Bloomington and IUPUI. The report from Mary Frances McCourt, IU’s Chief Financial Officer, was expected to be made at the upcoming February 2013 meeting of the Trustees. Last week McCourt announced her report would be delayed. Recently student, staff, and faculty opposition to parking privatization has mounted. WFHB News Correspondent David Murphy spoke to Ed Vasquez, the President of CWA Local 4730, which represents members of IU’s parking staff who oppose the plan.
