This week on Interchange, host Alycin Bektesh speaks with Magnus Johnson and Jim Connor, members of the Nashville, Indiana based organization Elder Heart. Johnson speaks about his own experiences as a returning veteran that led him to begin creating art with Connor. The process has given them both greater insight to the need for a community wide approach to helping veterans transition. Through the creation of public art installations, Elder Heart aims to raise awareness on issues such as the rising veteran suicide rate, create a space for veterans and civilians to work together and exchange experiences, and fundraise for veterans in need.
