Paul Smith, an electronics engineer with Indiana University and member of the 9/11 Working Group of Bloomington, does not believe everything the government tells him, especially regarding the official story behind the 9/11 disasters. As a scientist, he approaches a problem, forms a hypothesis, gathers evidence, adjusts his hypothesis and forms a conclusion. What he and thousands like him have concluded is that what the congressionally appointed 9/11 Commission has reported is not scientifically possible. In light of the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 disaster, we interviewed Smith about his controversial ideas in this special edition of Interchange. If, after listening, you would like more information about these alternative theories regarding 9/11, IU’s “themester” offers a wide array of discussions, films, theater, and lectures examining multiple points of view, including both scientific dissidents and officials behind the common consensus.
