Interchange – A Visible Community of Readers: One Book One Bloomington

Play

Host William Morris is joined by Michael Simmons, Kathy Lozier, and Sara Laughlin of the community reading project One Book One Bloomington.  OBOB is, in essence, a community book club that reads, reviews, and discusses one specific book, selected by the community at large, each year.  Our guests unveil the 2011 OBOB selection: “Let the Great World Spin”, a historical fiction by Colum McCann about the intertwining lives of three people on August 7, 1974, the day that high-wire walker Felipe Petit enters the as-yet-unopened World Trade Center, runs a wire between the two towers and walks back and forth for one whole day.  Past OBOB selections include “The Great Gatsby”, “1984”, “The Book Thief”, and “The Girl With the Tangerine Scarf”.
