Indiana University Bloomington graduated nearly ten thousand students over the weekend.

On Saturday morning IU Bloomington conferred over 7,000 bachelor’s degrees and, on Friday afternoon, the university also conferred 2,600 post-graduate degrees at Assembly Hall.

Commencement ceremonies for IU take place across the state from last Friday to this coming Saturday. According to a press release from Indiana University, the 2019 graduating class is comprised of 56 percent women, with students coming from all 50 states, the District of Columbia,Puerto Rico, and 138 countries around the world. Almost 70% of the graduating class are Indiana residents.

Chuck Carney, Director of Media Relations at the University, says this year’s graduating class represents one of the school’s most diverse graduating classes.

According to the University its two most popular degrees are a Bachelor of Science in Finance, with over 800 graduates; and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology, with over 400 graduates. Graduates range from 19 to 76 years old.
