The son of the legendary Indiana boy — Hoagy Carmichael — who grew up to be one of the greatest popular songwriters of the 20th Century, Hoagy Bix is in town to help stage and promote the music and dance revue, “Stardust Road: A Hoagy Carmichael Musical Journey.” The show traces four decades of American history through Hoagy’s music. Hoagy Bix, named after his father and the fabled jazz cornettist Bix Beiderbecke, talks about the staying power of Hoagy’s music as well as the joys and pitfalls of growing up a celebrity child.
