Welcome to the Holiday Episode of Hearabouts: Asian American Midwest Radio! Hearabouts is produced by WFHB and Indiana University’s Asian Culture Center. We ask critical questions about identity, culture, community and shared assumptions.

On today’s episode, Mongolian-American Ochmaa Dasheveg Escue and Indian-American Suparna Bose discuss their traditions during the holiday season, specifically Christmas and New Year’s in Mongolia and India. Also in the episode, Escue and Bose discuss more traditional festivals and holidays in Mongolia and India, Mongolian Buddhist and Indian cultural resources and events in Bloomington, and the challenges of celebrating traditional Asian holidays in America.
