Members of the Bloomington Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Committee reported improvements on Interstate 69 construction since INDOT took over the project; The construction of Interstate 69 is making it difficult for personnel at the Northern Monroe Fire Territory to respond to calls in the western and northern parts of Monroe County; The Monroe County Public Library is putting on a series of programs dedicated to helping guide people through the stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease; The City of Bloomington’s Economic and Sustainable Development department reports a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in the area by 13 percent over the last decade.

FEATURE
Sandy Keller has been helping poor and at-risk women get good jobs since she founded My Sister’s Closet in 1998. The non-profit puts women in high-end clothing, and helps them hone their interviewing and job skills through workshops and counseling. Twenty years ago, Keller worked near the Middle Way House transitional residence, and saw many of the women needed help finding good work. The experience inspired her to start an organization that’s helped nearly 2000 women. She joins Michael Glab on this week’s edition of Big Talk.
