The Monroe County chapter of the League of Women Voters has canceled several forums that were scheduled for this week; Seven year old Liliana Hernandez and six year old Rene Pasztor were found dead in a car in Fort Wayne last week, several hours after an Amber alert was issued for the children; Students at a West Lafayette elementary school started a petition to make the Say’s firefly the official Indiana insect; Ellettsville Water Works has reported a violation of the Environmental Protection Agency’s water quality standards; The City Utilities Department is undergoing some staff changes. In last night’s meeting of the Utilities Service Board, Utilities Director Vic Kelson introduced Brad Schroeder as his department’s new assistant director for engineering.

FEATURE
The Bloomington Redevelopment Commission, which is involved with projects including the Switchyard Park and the Certified Tech Park, is debating whether to take public comment. Members of the Bloomington Redevelopment Commission reminded city administrators last night about what they say is a need for public input in the development of the Certified Tech Park and other projects. No public comment policy was approved in last night’s meeting.
