Jurors continued to hear testimony today in the trial of Daniel Messel, who was charged with the murder of Hannah Wilson in April of last year; The Indiana Forest Alliance has moved to new offices in Indianapolis; State regulators aren’t saying whether Monroe County’s new public safety tax is effectively dead on arrival; The Monroe County Solid Waste Management District Board of Directors approved spending $100,000 to hire a consultant to do a feasibility study for a dual stream materials recovery facility; Bloomington’s Comprehensive Master Plan is now available for public review.

FEATURE
A recent study by Purdue and Indiana University researchers identified more than 900 genes that are linked to alcoholism. WFHB Assistant News Director Sarah Vaughan spoke with the researchers about the study, and about how genetic disposition and environment relate to addiction.
