Bloomington City Council Candidate Jim Blickensdorf Suspends Campaign

Play

Bloomington City Council candidate Jim Blickensdorf will no longer seek office for the District 3 city council seat.

Blickensdorf’s resignation comes after The Herald-Times of Bloomington published a piece detailing his ownership of a Bedford strip club in the late nineties. That piece alleges Blickensdorf hired under-age exotic dancers and was the impetus for an Indiana Supreme Court decision regarding what must be disclosed to buyers and sellers in real estate transactions.

The Herald Times also found that Blickensdorf, who until yesterday sat on the Bloomington Parking Commission, owed hundreds of dollars in unpaid for parking tickets.

Blickensdorf’s suspension of his campaign comes on the heels of Monroe County Commissioner Amanda Barge’s announcement on Tuesday that she will suspend her run for Bloomington Mayor.

Barge’s announcement came the same day as an expose by the Indiana Daily Student detailed her alleged sexual harassment of a former Monroe County Contractor.
