2018 Opioid Summit: Amanda Barge & Shelli Yoder

Play

Monroe County Commissioner Amanda Barge had an idea in 2017: Get community leaders, public officials, medical experts, and people with life experiences together to tackle the Opioid Crisis. She recruited Monroe County Council member Shelli Yoder to the cause and now the two are about to stage the 2nd Annual South Central Indiana Opioid Summit: Year of Action. Barge and Yoder claim significant triumphs so far: for instance, they point to the dramatic drop on drug overdose deaths in the county since the first Summit in September, 2017.
