Sam Bush and his band New Grass Revival were a prime influence in the progressive bluegrass movement of the 1970s. In the years since, Sam’s music has continued to evolve and remains an inspiration for a new generation of artists including Punch Brothers, Sierra Hull, Leftover Salmon and any more. WFHB’s Music Director Jim Manion recently got the chance to catch Sam on the phone for an extensive interview, in anticipation of his headlining Saturday night set at the 2016 John Hartford Memorial Festival in Bean Blossom, Indiana.
