Native Plants and Seed Exchange

Bring your own native plant starts and seeds to exchange with others from around the community!

Share, learn, and explore the natural beauty of Indiana. Expect milkweed, asters, obedient plant, Solomon’s seal, and more! All plants must be for trade; no sales are permitted. Non-invasive cultivars and houseplants are welcome, but invasive plants are forbidden. If you don’t have plants to share, come to learn about native plants of our area.

Natives are plant species that exist naturally in a region where they have evolved. Wildflowers, ferns, mosses, shrubs, and trees of our area have adapted to local environmental conditions over thousands of years and have formed a well-balanced ecosystem.

These North American plants are disappearing at an alarming rate due to land development, expanding agriculture, and the introduction of invasive species. In our own yards, we can help to sustain them and provide a rich food source and habitat for birds, butterflies, beneficial insects, and small wildlife.

This casual, come-and-go event is family-friendly. The park has a playground.
