“Elimination communication” is a new term for the ancient practice of infant potty training that has been utilized by cultures around the world for most of human history. Elimination communication can begin at any age and is surprisingly simple to learn and use. It is based on the fact that your baby is born with control of his/her sphincter muscles, an awareness of elimination needs, and the ability to communicate those needs to caregiver(s). All that is required to get diapers out of your life (and gain amazing benefits, too!) is a willingness to learn your baby’s elimination cues and work together to meet elimination needs.
