Help the Haiti recovery effort

You can help those suffering from the devastation caused by the earthquakes in Haiti. Below  are some of the aid sites recommended by IU's Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, which is providing a local collection site for relief supplies.

Of particular need, according to CLACS:

Wound dressing and bandages
Rehydration packets
Chloroquine (anti-malarial)
Non-perishable foods

IU CLACS is located at 1125 E. Atwater in Bloomington, and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You can also make a financial contribution to disaster relief at the sites below.

If you prefer, you can text "Yele" to 501501, which will automatically provide a $5 donation to relief efforts. Or you can text "HAITI" to 90999, which will contribute $10 to the effort through the American Red Cross.

The International Red Cross Committee has established a Web site to find out information about relatives and friends in Haiti who have been missing since the earthquake hit on Tuesday: www.icrc.org/familylinks.

Whatever you can do, please help.
