$10 million worth of parks, trails and tree planting projects are officially a go. The Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners gave their final, confirmatory approval last Thursday. Parks Operations Director Dave Williams told the Park Board taking a tree inventory is among the city’s next steps.
The city plans to do a planting blitz in the spring.
The park projects will be funded by a series of bonds, which will be paid off through a property tax increase.
Bloomington Controller Jeff Underwood said his team is working on a way for the public to access the bonds, in increments of about a thousand dollars. He said the city hopes to sell the bonds by the middle of December.
