Grassroots Group Opposes Proposed Coal Plant

After they found out that a coal-to-diesel plant is being planned to open in their town, residents of Dale, Indiana organized. They came together and founded the grassroots Southwestern Indiana Citizens for Quality of Life, with the help of the environmental advocacy organization Valley watch in Evansville. City Approves Long-Term Affordable Housing Project

The Bloomington City Council approved a 10-year tax break for an affordable housing development, during their session last week. Under the agreement, the developers would get a 98 percent tax break for ten years.
