Bloomington, IN– Let’s do the Time Warp AGAIN! Constellation Stage and Screen is thrilled to be presenting Bloomington’s 17th annual presentation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday, October 29th at 7:00pm and 11:00pm. After last year’s SOLD-OUT screening’s success, Constellation is excited to offer TWO screenings at the BCT to help support Constellation’s IU Credit Union Education Initiative. Join before the show for our costume contest and pre-show event hosted by local drag queen, host, and producer Oriana Perón!
In this cult classic, newly engaged sweethearts Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) find themselves stuck with a flat tire during a storm and happen upon the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry), a “sweet transvestite” and scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Meat Loaf), a creepy butler (Richard O’Brien), and a pair of wicked groupies. Through elaborate songs and dances, Frank unveils his latest creation: a muscular male specimen named “Rocky.”
This show has a long history of audience participation. At screenings, audiences typically throw rice, ring bells, yell specific phrases, and generally cause mayhem in the theater!
Arrive early for a special Devirginization and costume contest, hosted by Bloomington’s own Oriana Perón! This exciting pre-show event begins 30 minutes before each screening (6:30PM & 10:30PM). Our costume contest will feature some AWESOME PRIZES from local businesses. Suggested entry fee for the costume contest is $5 and will be collected right before the contest begins.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to support Constellation’s education and outreach programs, which help make live theatre and film production accessible to youth in the Bloomington community.
